I thought I'd share how to make "Moss Balls"
First I took a knee high nylon sock and stuffed it with potting soil and formed it into a ball.
I made a mix of ready mix sand topping cement mix, (the sand topping doesn't have any rocks in it) and I added some sphagnum peat moss to the cement mix, and made it to where it would be firm but yet wet enough to not crumble. I patted the cement/moss mix onto the nylon ball. I took a pencil and poked some holes into the ball once it started to set up, make the holes big enough that you will be able to put some small plants like hens and chicks, in them.
Give the moss balls time to set up (about a week) then plant with small succulent or other small plants.
I've had mine for several years now and they still are as good as the day I made them!
