Certified Illinois Herb Garden

Post  Josh on Sat Sep 17, 2011 8:10 pm

I am a student member of the Illinois Herb Association and they wanted an official Certified Herb of the Year garden in each county. I have a Certified Herb of the Year Garden for Jefferson Co.

The garden is open for viewing to any group, organization, or individual.

IL CERT HERB GARDEN

Post  julieluvs2garden on Sun Apr 29, 2012 8:44 pm

SO Josh- a lady came to see my garden a few days ago. She said I was certified. But it was so cold and windy we didnt make much small talk after looking at everything. WHat will they do now? DO they give you anything to display? Just curious. DO you have many people come to see your garden?

That's GREAT Julie!!! Congratulations!!

They give you a certificate and I took mine to Staples and for around $10.00 they copied it onto a foam poster board and laminated it, I have an stand for it that I put it on when I'm showing the garden, that way I don' mess up my original certificate.

I just made my garden last year and I've had around 40 people come to see it.

Guess what herb was the hardest to control it's spreading?

The Herb garden is doing great! It's hard to believe there are 21 different herbs in that 4 x 8 raised garden!
