New for 2012...a small greenhouse
I've wanted a small greenhouse for a long time, so I finally decided to get one!
It's just a small one, but I'm excited about it!
Greenhouse
Another project for Bob! I know he will be looking forward to putting this together for me!
I'll post an update when it arrives!
Any information you might have to share about greenhouses would be greatly appreciated!

It's here!
It arrived yesterday, we had gone to town and when we arrived home, it was sitting on the deck!
Now all I have to do is get Bob to put it together!
I've read in the reviews that some people put it together in 6 hours, and for some people it took 3 days, some said it was easy and some said it was hard to put together. At our house, anything that comes in a box that has to be put together, is never easy! The weather has turned off cold again, down to 18 today, so here's hoping for 3 warm days soon!

It's a SUNNY DAY todtay
Bob is off work today! I'm off work today! I think it will be a good day to start putting up that greenhouse!
Has anyone else put one of these together? Anyone have any suggestions, ideas or tips?

It started off great, we put all the pieces out in a numbered order to make them easy to find.
This was as far as Bob could build it, there was two pieces broken
I called the company, and they were very nice and are sending new pieces and they should be here middle of next week.

What a cute little greenhouse! I think I have greenhouse envy!
And that's really not a bad price either!
I can't wait to see it put together! Are you going to leave it on that small deck? I think it would look totally cute set up on there!

Yes Bob is going to leave it on that wooden deck. He made the wooden deck there last year, we just put our lawn table and chairs there, and Josh used for his "stage" for playing his guitar.
I think it will look good there too. The deck sets between the flower SFGs and the Vegetable SFGs. The flower SFG has the stone look walk through it, and then the vegetable SFGs has the stone walk between the SFGs, so I'm thinking Bob needs to make a stone look walk leading from the flower garden over to the greenhouse and then over to the veggie SFGs . What do you think? I'll see if I can get a picture of the layout for you to see, I need someone's opinion besides Bob's, he has a tendency to go against my ideas if it involves work for him.

Theresa,
I agree 100%! If you have the stone look paths in both gardens and the greenhouse is in the middle, it's an absolute MUST!
I'd love to see a picture of your layout!
We are in the very beginning stages of planning our layout but I've been wanting to do SFG for a couple of years now and since pretty much everything is now PAID for ... we may be able to get home more often! YaY ...

The replacement parts came in the mail yesterday! However it has turned cold again, and this morning it started snowing I doubt there is going to be another warm 65 degree day again anytime soon, but it has to warm up sometime, right?

Re: New for 2012...a small greenhouse
I got out of school early today and it was nice out so my mom had me work on the greenhouse.
It wasn't to bad working on it, maybe tomorrow me and my dad can do some more work on it.

Re: New for 2012...a small greenhouse
I was surprised with it's size too, I thought it would be much smaller. That deck is 12 x 12 that it's sitting on. Since Josh was home from school today and I was home from work, together we put just about all of it together. There is a base that it sits on and Bob will have to put that together. We tied it down with rope for now till Bob gets the base done. I wouldn't want it to blow away! I have an automatic arm for the window too. I think I'm going to like it!!

It's done!
We finished the greenhouse Sunday.
All the plants have been moved in.
Let me show you a little about it.
It has small gutters and on each corner of the greenhouse it has a spout you connect a hose to collect rain.
It has a two piece door, and the top piece opens back and has a fastener to hold it open.
It has a window in the ceiling and it opens and closes according to the temperature
We have a table and 3 stands to hold plants, one stand has 4 shelves and is tall and two have 3 shelves and are shorter.
Under the table I put the grow light stand I made, when the seedlings get bigger they can be moved to the top of the table or put on the shelves.
It has a water connection inside the greenhouse. You can turn it on and off, it is connected to a water hose. The box holds the curly water hose.
There is electricity, and a electric heater for night time.
It really wasn't hard to put together.

Very impressive! I want one I'm even more impressed with the size now that you have most everything moved in. Looks like the perfectly manageable size for home use. Congrats!!

The babies get bigger pots today!
The greenhouse is doing great, I've got all kinds of seedlings, Josh has several things started and I have several flowers and vegetables planted.
Looks like the Zuc will be getting bigger pots!
